Mijn fascinatie voor textiel komt voort uit een diep besef, dat textiel is opgebouwd uit draden.
Draden zijn de verbinding die textiel vormen. Textiel is verweven met en in ons leven.
Van bescherming tot aan schoonheid blijkt textiel al omvattend.
Het creëren van of het werken met textiel behoort daarom gevoelsmatig bij mijn eerste levensbehoefte
Met mijn passie voor kleur en materialen zoals stof, vezels, draad, papier (o.a.Joomchi) in samenhang met woorden maak ik nieuwe verbindingen en zoek ik naar manieren om emoties in kleur en materialen uit te beelden.
Mijn inspiratie haal ik uit de natuur, reizen, ontmoetingen en verhalen.
De emoties die boven komen als ik in de natuur ben, tijdens het kijken naar kunst, op reis, al lezend en in ontmoetingen zijn mijn leidraad.
Daarnaast kleuren levenservaringen mijn werk.
Kleur en de gelaagdheid in kleuren, inspireren me om de gelaagdheid van emoties te onderzoeken en te verbeelden.
Ik gebruik o.a. textielverf, acrylverf, inkt, ontkleuring, mono print, druktechnieken, machinaal- en handborduren om mijn materialen kleur te geven. En daar de structuren en texturen mee aan te brengen.
Door middel van kleur, woord en materiaal verbind ik mijn innerlijke wereld met de buitenwereld. Om zo met mijn werk anderen te inspireren en de mogelijkheid te bieden geraakt te worden.
Artist Statement
My fascination for textiles stems from a deep realization that textiles are made up of threads.
Threads are the connection that makes up textiles. Textiles are interwoven with and in our lives.
From protection to beauty, textiles appear to be all-encompassing.
Creating or working with textiles therefore instinctively belongs to my first necessity of life
With my passion for color and materials such as fabric, fibres, thread, paper (including Joomchi) in conjunction with words, I make new connections and I look for ways to express emotions in color and materials.
I get my inspiration from nature, travel, encounters and stories.
The emotions that come up when I am in nature, while looking at art, traveling, reading and in encounters are my guideline.
In addition, life experiences color my work.
Color and the layering of colors inspire me to explore and imagine the layering of emotions.
I use fabric paint, acrylic paint, ink, decolorization, mono print, printing techniques, machine and hand embroidery to give color to my materials. And apply the structures and textures with it.
Through colour, word and material I connect my inner world with the outer world. In order to inspire others with my work and to offer the opportunity to be touched.
